There is very little you need to buy for a Yoga beginner but you ought to get a mat on which to practice, as practicing right on the floor might be a bit uncomfortable for you and make you not want to practice Yoga. You should wear loose, comfortable clothing, to enable yourself to move your body and carry out the poses and motions of Yoga in a comfortable and unrestricting manner.

When you settle down to your Yoga practices, you should try to get rid of any distractions, i.e., turn off the TV and things like that; leave the phone off the hook.
